Martyn Perryman

Born in Bath in 1963, Martyn’s early artistic ambitions were in sculpture. He trained at Richmond School of Art and worked as an assistant to John Rivera, then President of The Royal Society of British Sculptors.
From there he forged a successful career in the retail industry, designing displays and managing prop studios for leading names such as Harvey Nichols.
After gaining a first class honours from Wimbledon Art College in 2007, Martyn moved to Cornwall to concentrate on his career as a professional artist. Since then, he has exhibited widely in the UK and his paintings are included in exhibitions in France, California and Australia.
Martyn creates seascapes and landscapes, focusing on the horizon, taking his inspiration from frequent coastal walks.
“My intention is to produce an image that will trigger a past visual experience. To create the calmness and clarity of mind that can be achieved when looking out to a horizon; free from the pressure and clutter of urban life”.
